APdC membership is open to dancers, choreographers, teachers, health and dance specialists, producers, cultural managers, company managers and anyone who works in an arena that is related to dance. Likewise students of the discipline can also be members of the APdC and benefit from a good part of the services offered to its associate members.
The APdC exists as a result of trade union objectives called for by the sector as a whole. In this sense, the main work of the entity is to improve the situation, its benefits and to consolidate the profession. We carry out work that on the short term may appear intangible to our members, but that little by little gives results that actually improve the sector's overall predicament. We organise work meetings and put on pressure as a political lobby group on both the public institutions and at a civilian level in a bid to make them aware of the importance of dance within our society and to oversee that it is conducted in a professional manner.
Also as we are a fairly large collective, members can take advantage of all the other complementary
services available for their professional development (courses, advice, etc) and also of special offers and discounts available on a variety of services and shows (like discounts on theatre tickets). We always try to ensure that these special offers make sense professionally as well.
