The APdC provides information on its activities and on the dance world in general through a variety of mediums, like the Web, e-mail, a library service and a collection of information sheets that provide basic information helpful to those in the profession. This information is available to both the sector and those that study it, as well as to the general public, in order to enhance its understanding of the dance sector.
The APdC wants to be a reference point for up-to-date information on dance in Catalonia. The website provides current information on the sector and on the organisation, in a clear and readable fashion. We make sure that members who use the website have all the resources, documents and advice that they require readily available to them.
The APdC periodically informs its members and subscribers via e-mail of current events in the dance sector and of the organisation's activities. The members also receive more complete and specialised information, like calls for proposals of all kinds (competitions, grants, etc) and job positions available in the sector). At our offices we have a library that specialises in Dance and Performing Arts. It includes books, specialist magazines, yearbooks, publications from various institutions and resource directories for consultation like the PAYE (Performing Arts Yearbook for Europe). It also holds a collection of shows, technical films, compilations (like the 'How they dance' series) and amongst other things on DVD. The library is open from 10 am to 3 pm. Members are able to borrow two items at a time for 15 days.
Basic information sheets
These are a collection of sheets that contain basic and key subject matter for the professional's day-to-day activities and can act as a useful work tool. Written in a condensed and comprehensible way, they deal with important issues like employment rights, dance and health or the authors'copyrights. APdC members can download these information sheets in a PDF formatfrom the website.
