In this Lab, we will focus on opening a space dedicated to improvisation as creation method.
Improvisation is the base of the actor´s creative work. One can learn how to improvise, train his/her sesitivity, his/her expressive capacities, his/her space awarness. In this process, the actor founds himself alone, faceing himself, his limitations and also he encounters this "freedom vertigo", a feeling of impossiblity produced by the conciousness of the infinity of his possibilities on stage

Etienne Decroux´s corporeal mime uses improvisation as a base of its physical work, its metaphorisation process. Improvisation is the art of this artform born from the desire and the necessity to place the actor at the centre of theatrocal creation.

What will we study?
Different way of to improvise (solo, duets, groups)
Space and time in improvisation
Articulation and dramatic action
The metaphoric use of space
Liimitation as a freeing tool

How?
During this lab, we will draw a pedagogical journey through the different ways of improvising
We will explore technical concepts allowing to enhance clarity and expression.
Thanks to this exploration, we will help the students to elaborate his own methodology
